October 2 2006
On Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, in an act of nonviolent direct action, Seventy-four activists were arrested attempting to deliver a subpoena to Alliant’s CEO, Daniel J. Murphy. The subpoena ordered Murphy to testify at an up coming trial of 42 AlliantACTION activists arrested last fall attempting to warn workers of war crime liabilities under international law. Four others were arrested for 'weaving' a web of yarn, which symbolized the connections made at the weekend conference.

The event was planned by AlliantACTION for the conclusion of the International Stop the Merchants of Death Conference organized by the War Resisters League and held at the University of St. Thomas the preceeding three days.
This is a visual representation of the event. It is not meant to be complete, but rather a glimpse of the moment.
